The purchase process

Buying property in North Cyprus involves selecting the property, a reservation agreement, registering the contract of sale at the Land Registry and obtaining Council of Ministers permission. Working with an independent lawyer throughout is our most important advice.

Title deed types

• Turkish Title: the most secure, belonging to Turkish Cypriots pre-1974.
• Exchange Title: granted by the state through exchange.
• Allocation Title: land allocated by the state.

Taxes and costs

Buyers typically pay VAT, title transfer fee and stamp duty. Ask your consultant for current rates.
